About

Hi, I’m Kaela Easley. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and an EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapist, supervised under Brandi Barnett. I specialize in EMDR therapy, depression and anxiety treatment, marriage counseling, and couples therapy for individuals and relationships navigating difficult seasons. I work from an trauma-informed, attachment based framework. I serve clients in Lufkin and East Texas who are seeking practical tools, deeper healing, and meaningful change. My work focuses on helping individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional overwhelm, as well as couples facing marriage crisis, communication breakdown, betrayal, or disconnection. Whether you are feeling stuck personally or in your relationship, therapy can provide clarity, direction, and hope. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based approach that helps process trauma, reduce anxiety, and alleviate symptoms of depression. EMDR therapy is especially effective for clients experiencing unresolved trauma, panic symptoms, intrusive memories, or long-standing emotional patterns that feel difficult to shift. Whether you are seeking EMDR therapy for trauma, counseling for depression and anxiety, or marriage counseling during a crisis, my goal is to create a steady, compassionate environment where growth feels possible and healing feels attainable. Each person has their own story in which trauma, shame, and grief do not need to be the main character. Every individual's unique needs will inform the healing process. From feeling overwhelmed and depressed, getting burnt out, having relational distress, or coping with past trauma, my hope is to empower each individual to meet their God-given potential. “Shame dies when stories are told in safe places” - Ann Voskamp Please Note: While I do not bill insurance, I do provide a superbill which many insurance companies accept for reimbursement. My Journey to Becoming a Therapist Counseling is a second career, derived from personal life experiences that led me to want to help others. I worked in the pharmaceutical sales industry during my 20’s and then moved to Turkey for several years. While living in Turkey, I met refugees and other individuals suffering from various forms of trauma that I felt ill equipped to help. This, coupled with a struggle to find appropriate resources when our own family went through a traumatic experience, caused me to pursue a masters degree in mental health counseling with an emphasis in neurocounseling from Bradley University. Neurocounseling considers the science of the brain when crafting a counseling approach. The drastic benefits I personally received from EMDR therapy caused me to want to pursue this path in order to help others in the same way I was helped. My interests lie in counseling needs related to adoption, cross-cultural wounds and adjustment, and trauma related struggles.
